National Day of Service and Remembrance 09112024

Today, we stand in remembrance of a day that forever changed our nation. Twenty-three years ago, the Twin Towers fell, a symbol of strength shattered by unspeakable violence. In the wake of this tragedy, our country witnessed acts of courage and compassion that define the very best of the American spirit. We honor the Native Americans whose ancestral lands were the site of this attack. Their resilience and enduring connection to the earth remind us of the importance of unity and understanding. We remember the brave men and women who answered the call to serve. From all walks of life, they stepped forward to defend our freedom and protect our way of life. Their sacrifice and unwavering patriotism will forever be etched in our hearts. Let us also remember the first responders, the firefighters, the police officers, the medical professionals, and citizens who rushed into the danger, risking their own lives to save others. Their selfless heroism is a testament to the indomitable spirit of humanity.

Baker, Chairman – 970.563.0100 Summer Begay, Communication Specialist – 970.563.2313 FOR RELEASE: August 26, 2024 Tribal Broadband Modernization Project: Construction Update Weather permitting, the Phase II construction schedule for the foreseeable future is as follows: Where: Crews will be working along the following roads: County Road-316, County Road-315, County Road-318, County Road-516, County Road-518, County Road-514, County Road-515, County Road-222, County Road-334, Sunset Circle, Sunset Meadows Drive, Pow Wow Circle, Ute Road, Bear Dance Road, and Buck Highway. Construction will take place along the edge of the roadways and/or behind the sidewalk. Please see the maps below for more precise locations. What: The broadband project will include trenching, boring, and plowing to install fiber, as well as reclamation and seeding. Construction vehicles and fiber spools will be visible on the edges of roadways. When: Construction is ongoing. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Travel Impact: Parking lanes, road shoulders, sidewalks and alleyways may be temporarily closed during operations. Motorists will be required to reduce speeds and travel safely around the construction taking place on the side of the road. Committee of Elders Workgroup: Bylaws Town Hall 09042024

The Committee of Elders Workgroup is pleased to announce a town hall on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Multi-Purpose Facility. This town hall has been convened to present the draft Committee of Elders bylaws based on submitted revisions. The meeting will begin with a presentation followed by Q&A. Please note all comments are limited to 5 minutes due to time constraints. Attendance is limited to Southern Ute Tribal Elders only. Southern Ute Tribal Services Announces Southern Ute Tribal Fair Parade and Registration

The Southern Ute Department of Tribal Services is pleased to announce the Southern Ute Indian Tribal Fair Parade and Registration. The theme is “Passing Down Traditions”. Attached are the fillable and PDF forms for Parade Registration. There is also a QR code provided for those who wish to register in that manner. Live registration will still occur on September 7, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. at the Ignacio High School’s South lawn area.
