The Department of Natural Resources – Lands Division (Division) seeks voluntary participation in the proposed Land Acquisition Team (LAT). Consideration for this participation is of utmost importance, and we hope that you will consider joining us in this effort. Your willingness and steadfastness to assist the Division in supplying recommendations and guidance on current and future land acquisitions will be highly appreciated by the Southern Ute Tribal Council, tribal staff, and tribal members for generations to come. April 23, 2024, 3pm Gardening in the Southwest Basics This program will be presented by Darrin Parmenter, Western Regional Director, Colorado State University Cooperative Extension. Mr. Parmenter has extensive experience in horticulture education. Mr. Parmenter will provide information on gardening in SW desert climates.

Join us for an engaging session to explore traditions, governance, economic development, and the environmental stewardship of the Southern Ute people.
Over the summer, three Southern Ute tribal students participated in the Film Making Workshop hosted by the Education Department, State of Colorado Office of Film, Television and Media, and the Gates Family Foundation. Nate, Elliott, and DJ Hendren worked on creating a film to feature the Tribe’s skate park, from the planning to the outcome for the community. We will be showing the film at the Ignacio High School Auditorium, April 23, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Q & A opportunity.
