The fire remains at 114 acres, with no new growth reported. Crews are actively securing containment lines and conducting mop-up operations across the fire area. Infrared technology is being used to detect and eliminate hidden hot spots, helping ensure the fire stays within control lines. A total of 106 personnel remain assigned to the incident. While fire activity has stayed moderate, crews and resources will remain in the area to respond quickly and proactively to any new fire starts. Public and firefighter safety remain the top priority. Further updates will be shared as conditions evolve. The safety of the community and fire personnel remains the top priority as suppression efforts continue. Smoke may be visible to the local communities. The Southern Ute Police Department's Community Resource Division and the Boys and Girls Club of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe are hosting the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the SunUte Park (Field behind SunUte Community Center). This class, Fatherhood/Motherhood is Sacred class is geared towards Parents and/or family members in the community that would like to engage in a class that discusses cultural preservation while re-vitalizing the sacred roles of Fatherhood and Motherhood. NAFFA or Native American Fatherhood and Families Association has designed this class to emphasize that families are the heart of all cultures. "Our method is to uplift, encourage, assist, and teach.
