The Southern Ute Education Department is recruiting 10 rising 8th graders through high school students for a 5-day trip to Oceanside, California, June 24-28, 2024. The trip will allow Southern Ute Tribal Member youth to explore Growth Fund Properties and discover future career paths. Application Deadline is February 29, 2024, to drop off or email. SunUte – FLC Volleyball Camp Sign-Up

SMHW – Breastfeeding & Parent Support Class

Shining Mountain Health and Wellness will hold the February Breastfeeding and Parenting Support Class on Thursday, February 8th from 12-1pm, downstairs in the Mouache Capote Building. Join us for our “Heart 2 Heart-Ways to Bond with Baby” discussion, dress up for Valentine photos, and enjoy a healthy lunch! SU DSS: Fatherhood is Sacred/Motherhood is Sacred

Southern Ute DSS is bringing in a second class for the Tribal Community! This class, Fatherhood/Motherhood is Sacred class is geared towards Parents and/or family members in the community that would like to engage in a class that discusses cultural preservation while re-vitalizing the sacred roles of Fatherhood and Motherhood. NAFFA or Native American Fatherhood and Families Association along with Founder and President Albert M. Pooley (Hopi/Navajo) has designed this class to emphasize that families are the heart of all cultures. "Our method is to uplift, encourage, assist, and teach. Fulfilling life with hope, gratitude, and understanding has a powerful effect in changing attitudes and behavior. There is no better way.
