SU TIS: DMV2Go

DMV2GO will return to the Southern Ute Indian Reservation! DMV2GO is the Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) exciting, new program that aims to help Coloradans who do not normally have easy access to in-office driver license services by bringing the DMV to them. DMV2GO is part of the DMV's commitment to serve all Coloradans. This program gives tribal membership, as well as local community members, a chance to address DMV issues without the required appointment at a DMV office.   May 2nd will be the first of three events hosted at the Sky Ute Casino Resort in the John S. Williams Room. The other events will occur on July 10th and September 5th,  2024. Services included are below. DMV2GO accepts cash, credit/debit card, checks, or money orders. First time: Colorado Driver License or ID card Out-of-State Transfers Renew: Driver License, Permit, Identification Card, Issue New: Driver License, Permit, Identification Card Motor Vehicle Records Reinstatements Colorado Roads and Community Safety Act services

Jimmy Newton Jr. Youth Leadership Conference

The Sunshine Cloud Smith Youth Advisory Council is hosting the Jimmy Newton Jr. Youth Leadership Conference and Camp Sasquatch on Thursday, July 11, 2024 Camp Sasquatch Cultural activity will be held at the Archery Range, below SunUte at 7:30am. Jimmy Newton Jr. Youth Leadership Conference will be held at the Sky Ute Casino Resort Events Center 10:00am – 12:00pm Where the students will have the option of a writing workshop with Tanaya Winder or 988 Skate Desk Art Workshop.

Cultural Humility Workshop

“Cultural Humility” Tuesday, July 9th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. in the Bonny Kent Room at the Sky Ute Casino – Lunch will be provided. This training brings a trauma-informed approach to equity and cultural humility. We will explore the impact of microaggressions and implicit bias. We will also consider the interconnected relationship between trauma, equity, and resilience. We truly hope you can make the time for this worthwhile session and discussion. SU DSS – Positive Indian Parenting Class

The Southern Ute Division of Social Services is offering Positive Indian Parenting Class during the month of July. This month there is a change to the times we’re offering the class. As requested by the community, we are offering an evening class to working parents, who might not be available during office hours. In July 2024, the classes will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. You may sign up now for this free, virtual class. Call (970) 563-2337 to sign up.  

SU Behavioral Health – Mending Broken Hearts

Please Southern Ute Behavioral Health as they begin a new cycle of our Mending Broken Hearts group Tuesday July 16th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The Mending Broken Hearts group is focused on healing from Trauma, as well as Grief and loss, if you are interested in attending the group it will be held at the Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum in Ignacio, CO.
