  • SunUte – Tri Ute Games

    Tri-Utes are back this 2024! The Southern Ute Indian Tribe is hosting this year’s Tri-Ute Games and is looking for athletes and coaches!  Save the date for mid-summer 2024, exact dates will be announced before the end of March.  Packet pick-up for coaches and players will be at SunUte Recreation.  Please contact SunUte Recreation at (970) 563-0214 and request the following Recreation staff members for assistance:  Darnell (2667), Elijah (2655), Kelsey (2660), or Bird (2664).  Deadline for packet submission will be May 3, 2024

  • Ignacio Community Easter Egg Hunt

    The Southern Ute Police Department's Community Resource Division and the Boys and Girls Club of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe are hosting the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the SunUte Park (Field behind SunUte Community Center).   There will be 3 age ranges for the fields 0-4, 5-8 and 9-14.  Bring the family, meet the Easter Bunny and partake in food vendors, games, and tons of other prizes.   • SU DSS – Fatherhood/Motherhood is Sacred Classes

    Southern Ute DSS is bringing in a second class for the Tribal Community! This class, Fatherhood/Motherhood is Sacred class is geared towards Parents and/or family members in the community that would like to engage in a class that discusses cultural preservation while re-vitalizing the sacred roles of Fatherhood and Motherhood. NAFFA or Native American Fatherhood and Families Association has designed this class to emphasize that families are the heart of all cultures. "Our method is to uplift, encourage, assist, and teach. Fulfilling life with hope, gratitude, and understanding has a powerful effect in changing attitudes and behavior. There is no better way. " First class starts March 4th! 2-4 pm

  • SU MPF – Traditional Sewing & Beading

    The Southern Ute Multi-Purpose Facility will hold traditional sewing and beading classes on March 26 & March 28, from 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  Call Elise to sign up and get supply list at (970) 563-2641.  Ribbon skirts and dresses are the focus. Beading projects are always welcome.

  • SU DSS – Positive Indian Parenting Class

    The Division of Social Services is offering Positive Indian Parenting class in March 2024 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 3pm. This class is free and open to all. It does require an email address, a smart device and a solid internet connection for the three-hour class.
