SU Pow Wow Committee – Seeking Bids for Bear Dance Pow Wow

SunUte – Tri Ute Games

Tri-Utes are back this 2024! The Southern Ute Indian Tribe is hosting this year’s Tri-Ute Games and is looking for athletes and coaches!  Save the date for mid-summer 2024, exact dates will be announced before the end of March.  Packet pick-up for coaches and players will be at SunUte Recreation.  Please contact SunUte Recreation at (970) 563-0214 and request the following Recreation staff members for assistance:  Darnell (2667), Elijah (2655), Kelsey (2660), or Bird (2664).  Deadline for packet submission will be May 3, 2024

SU DSS – Fatherhood/Motherhood is Sacred Classes

Southern Ute DSS is bringing in a second class for the Tribal Community! This class, Fatherhood/Motherhood is Sacred class is geared towards Parents and/or family members in the community that would like to engage in a class that discusses cultural preservation while re-vitalizing the sacred roles of Fatherhood and Motherhood. NAFFA or Native American Fatherhood and Families Association along with Founder and President Albert M. Pooley (Hopi/Navajo) has designed this class to emphasize that families are the heart of all cultures. “Our method is to uplift, encourage, assist, and teach. Fulfilling life with hope, gratitude, and understanding has a powerful effect in changing attitudes and behavior. There is no better way. ” Classes start January 30, 2024, and will continue through the month of February as stated in the flyer below.  Please call (970) 563-2335 for more information.

The Southern Ute Multi-Purpose Facility will be holding a food sale fundraiser on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Southern Ute Multi-Purpose Facility.  Order on Thursday by emailing multipurpose@southernute-nsn.gov or by calling (970) 563-2640 by 5:00 p.m.  Friday orders call (970) 563-2640 or (970) 563-2645.  Proceeds support MPF Community Pow Wows.
