  • Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum’s Kid Handgame Classes

    Please join the Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum in the month of November as we will be teaching classes for both adults and kids to learn the basics of playing Hand Games, both classes are open to the public.   Adult Classes will be held every Tuesday of the month starting November 7th from 5:30 pm – 8 pm Kid Classes will be held Friday, November 3rd and Friday, November 17th from 1 pm – 3 pm   To RSVP or for more information please contact the Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum’s Education & Outreach Coordinator, Raelynn Frauenhoff, at 970.563.2998 | rfrauenhoff@southernute-nsn.gov

  • 2023 Annual Salmon Giveaway

    Salmon Fish giveaways are scheduled for 3:00pm on Friday, November 3rd, Friday, November 10th & Friday, November 17th. Tribal Members need only to present their Tribal Identification Card and do NOT need to possess a state fishing permit. The giveaway will take place at the boat ramp starting at 3PM sharp. The Nighthorse staff typically allows participants access to the parking area at 2PM. It is first come first serve as well. Please bring your own containers to hold fish.   • La Plata County International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day

    For anyone who would like to attend the La Plata County International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day (see flyer), a van will take anyone interested from the SUHC on a first-come first-serve basis, leaving at 10:30 from the SUHC and returning about 2 PM.   • Southern Ute Thanksgiving Dinner 2023

    The Southern Ute Cultural Preservation Department presents the annual Southern Ute Thanksgiving Dinner open to all Southern Ute Tribal Members and their immediate family as well as members of the Ute Mountain Ute and Ute Indian Tribes. The dinner will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 11:30am-2:00pm at the Sky Ute Casino Event Center. Southern Ute Tribal Elders and Tribal Members with disabilities unable to attend in-person can contact Southern Ute Elder Services (970-563-2323) for home delivery.   • SUIMA Thanksgiving Break

    The Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy will be closed November 20-24, 2023, for Thanksgiving break.  Staff and students will return on Monday, November 27.  If you have any questions, please call the school at 970-563-0253.
