SMHW: Breast Cancer Awareness Dinner

Southern Ute Shining Mountain Health and Wellness invites you to participate in one of our events in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Come out to promote screening and prevention of breast cancer and support survivors in our community. Early detection saves lives and getting regular screening tests is the best way to find breast cancer early.

“The Ute Water Legacy” Screening

Join Fort Lewis College for a reception and special film screening of “The Ute Water Legacy,” a Rocky Mountain PBS Colorado Experience episode from local filmmaker Christi Bode. The event will be Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Fort Lewis College Student Union Ballroom. A light reception will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The program will start at 6:00 PM and conclude at 8:00 PM. Panel discussion to follow the screening featuring: + Vice Chairman Lorelei Cloud - Southern Ute Indian Tribe + Chairman Manuel Heart - Ute Mountain Ute Tribe + Christine Arbogast - President, Colorado Water Congress + Trent Taylor - Owner, Blue Horizon Farms, Hesperus, CO + Moderator: Celene Hawkins - Director of the CO River Tribal Partnerships Program, The Nature Conservancy This event is free and open to the community!
