President Biden has declared Thursday, January 9, a National Day of Mourning to remember the life and legacy of James Earl Carter Jr., the 39th President of the United States, and has issued an Executive Order for the closure of federal offices. In alignment, Tribal Council has approved the closure of the Permanent Fund offices on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Sky Ute Casino Resort, Growth Fund, and SUSS offices will remain open. Permanent Fund business hours will resume on Friday, January 10, 2025.

The Southern Ute Education Department is thrilled to announce an incredible opportunity for Southern Ute high school students, ages 15-18, to participate in a study abroad program this summer! This program is designed to provide students with a unique cultural experience, enhance their educational journey, and broaden their global perspectives. Participants will have the chance to immerse themselves in a new culture, learn from diverse educational systems, and develop valuable skills that will benefit their future endeavors. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the world and gain a deeper understanding of different cultures. For more details about the program, including eligibility criteria and application deadlines, please refer to the attached flyer. Southern Ute Education Applications are currently being accepted through February 14, 2025. The AFS-USA Application is due March 1, 2025.
