Run, Hide, Fight Scenario Training – SUIT Permanent Fund

As a reminder, Scenario training has been established at three fixed locations on tribal campus October 10-13, 2023, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  The attached schedule has been updated and outlined when tribal campus buildings are to report to their specific scenario training location at the scheduled time.  Risk Management will work with staff and supervisors to allow some flexibility if their scheduled training time interferes with any office coverage or any priority tasks requiring immediate attention. For tribal campus locations that provide direct customer service, tribal business shall be maintained during normal business hours by sending as many staff as possible to the assigned session and leaving delegated staff to maintain operations.  Staff who are delegated office coverage shall attend another session at any of the three locations as their schedule allows. If you have questions or need clarification related to the Run, Hide, Fight Scenario training, please feel free to call Don Brockus at Extension 2449 or direct dial at (970) 563-2449.

SU Vocation Rehabilitation – Creating a Culture of Belonging

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.  Last year, Chairman Baker and Tribal Council proclaimed October 12, 2022 as Disability Employment Awareness Day and every 2nd week of October thereafter as Disability Employment Awareness Week here on the Southern Ute Indian Reservation. To commemorate the very first Southern Ute Disability Employment Awareness Week, the Southern Ute Vocational Rehabilitation Program staff cordially invites employees and members of the community to join us for a day of training and discussion surrounding Disability and how we all belong in this conversation. Topics presented will include: Disability Etiquette, the Importance of Psychological Safety in the Workplace, a brief history of Vocational Rehabilitation, and Trauma-Informed Care. To attend, employees must have supervisor approval, ensure department coverage, and sign in upon arrival. Tuesday, October 10th, Sky Ute Event Center, 8:30am– 4:30pm. (Refreshments, lunch, and an afternoon snack will be provided) Please contact Misha Weaver, Vocational Rehabilitation Coordinator, at (970) 563-4730 for additional information.
