The Southern Ute Pow Wow Committe would like to announce the 2024 Southern Ute Bear Dance Powwow taking place on May 24-25, 2024, at the Sky Ute Casino Resort Events Center. SunUte – 54th Annual Los Pinos Classic Softball Tournament

Join SunUte Recreation for the 54th Annual Los Pinos Spring Class Softball Tournament May 24,-26, 2024.  Men's and Women's Tournament will be held Friday-Saturday.  Co-Ed will be held Sunday.  Entry Fee is $ 350.00, with a $100.00 Deposit due at sign-up.  Prizes 1st-3rd.  Registration deadline is May 21, 2024.  For more information contact Kelsey Frost at (970) 563-2660.

Southern Ute Bear Dance 2024

The Southern Ute Cultural Preservation Department would like to share the Southern Ute Bear Dance celebration flyer. The celebration will begin on May 24, 2024, with the blessing of the Corral and welcoming the SUIMA students to kick-off the Bear Dance.  The traditional Bear Dance Feast will also take place on Monday, May 27, 2024. The Southern Ute Bear Dance Chief Matthew Box is also seeking Volunteers for the 2024 Bear Dance. SU Education: YEP Applications OPEN!

The Southern Ute Youth Employment Program’s (YEP) job posting is up and is open to Tribal Member Youth 14-17 years of age. The Youth Employment Program’s job posting opened to First Descendants on Monday, April 22, 2024, for the same age range. Youth that apply will be contacted by the YEP Coordinator for interview schedule. Lake Capote: Season-Long Fishing Derby

Lake Capote will be celebrating their 60th Anniversary this year! The Lake will be hosting a season long Fishing Derby. Tri Ute Games Registration

This year, SunUte will be opening enrollment for the Tri-Ute Games to Southern Ute 2nd descendants! We are so happy to be able provide this opportunity and look forward to all the new participants! Our new athlete application deadline is May 24th. We are encouraging all enrolled Southern Ute Tribal members and Southern Ute 1st and 2nd descendants to sign up!  Requirements: Must be an enrolled SU Tribal Member OR a SU 1st or 2nd descendant Ages 9-18 Must be able to provide a CIB or letter of descendancy (can be provided by TIS)

Southern Ute Beardance Kick-Off Meal

Ute Language Class Cancelled

The remaining scheduled Friday lunch Ute Language Classes for the month of May are CANCELLED. The class will resume June 7th and more information will be forthcoming.

The Southern Ute Health Center will be closed May 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in observance of the granted administrative leave and on May 27, 2024, in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.
