Today, we pause to remember a day that shaped our nation. Twenty-four years ago, we faced unimaginable violence. In the aftermath, we witnessed extraordinary acts of courage, compassion, and unity – qualities that reflect the very best of the American spirit.
We honor the Tribes whose ancestral lands bore witness to this attack. We thank the brave individuals who answered the call to serve. They came from every background and stood together to defend our freedoms and protect our way of life.
We honor the first responders: the firefighters, police officers, medical professionals, and everyday heroes who ran toward danger to save others. These selfless acts continue to inspire us today and may we honor their memory.
