Following the Proclamation of the State of Local Disaster by Chairman Sage on October 25, 2026, the Southern Ute Emergency Operations Center (EOC) continues to assess flooding damage within the exterior boundaries of the Southern Ute Indian Reservation. The EOC has been in operation to coordinate the overall response to ensure the safety of the community as we experience severe monsoon storms, flooding, and infrastructure damage. The EOC remains staffed with incident command trained personnel that lead the major service level components of the Tribe—drawing personnel from the Growth Fund and the Permanent Fund. The EOC Command Center is providing this PSA as an update on current operations through today. Updates on the response and continued PSAs will continue to be distributed regarding resources and services that have been made available to those impacted by the flooding recently proclaimed disaster. Should you have any questions related to this PSA, please contact the Southern Ute Tribal Chairman’s Office at (970) 563-0100 or the Tribal Information Services Department at (970) 563-4702.

Fighting the stigma: June isn't only celebrating Father's Day, June marks Men's Mental Health Awareness Month! The Southern Ute Social Services Division would like to share positive mental health tips to support and communicate with loved ones in a positive manner. It’s also important to listen to the men in your life if they reach out to you and let them know that you’re there. Of course, this isn’t limited solely to Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month ― men’s mental health remains a big concern throughout the year, not just in June. While it’s more acceptable for men to express their emotions and get help than it used to be, it’s still important that we address the ongoing stigma that men shouldn’t need mental health support. Talk with the men in your lives, and if you’re experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, or other mental health difficulties, there are many places you can go to for support ― you’re not alone. Don't forget the YOU ROCK DAD CONCERT THIS FRIDAY!
