The Southern Ute Cultural Preservation Department would like to share the Southern Ute Bear Dance celebration flyer. The celebration will begin on May 24, 2024, with the blessing of the Corral and welcoming the SUIMA students to kick-off the Bear Dance.  The traditional Bear Dance Feast will also take place on Monday, May 27, 2024. The Southern Ute Bear Dance Chief Matthew Box is also seeking Volunteers for the 2024 Bear Dance. The Southern Ute Bear Dance Kick-Off Meal will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 11:00am-1:00pm, at the Sky Ute Casino Event Center. Doors will open at 10:30am. For questions, please contact Sherisa Valdez at 970-563-2988.

The remaining scheduled Friday lunch Ute Language Classes for the month of May are CANCELLED. The class will resume June 7th and more information will be forthcoming.

The Southern Ute Health Center will be closed May 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in observance of the granted administrative leave and on May 27, 2024, in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.
