Mission
The Southern Ute Tribal Family Services General Welfare (FSGW) Program provides assistance to eligible Southern Ute Indian Tribal Members who are experiencing a hardship or substantial need.

The Family Services General Welfare Division provides assistance to Southern Ute Tribal Members living on/off the reservation. Emergency grant funds are limited to $1,500 per eligible Tribal member age 18 and over.
Family Services General Welfare may include:
- Food
- Shelter
- Utilities
- Vehicle Repair
- Farming and Agriculture equipment
- Emergency appliance repair or replacement for homeowners (e.g., refrigerator, range, microwave, washing machine, dryer, heating, plumbing, mechanical systems, such as septic tanks, water heaters, water pumps, furnaces/stoves, and sump pumps.) when the failure of an existing appliance creates a hardship for the family.
- Transportation: Funds may be used to assist a Tribal member with transportation in the event of an unexpected death of an immediate family member, or when the Tribal member’s health and safety are at risk.
- Applications will be accepted at the Family Services General Welfare office and Farmer’s Fresh Market, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Applications received after 4:30pm will be processed the next business day. Please allow up to 24 hours for applications to be processed.
- Family Services General Welfare applications can be mailed, faxed, e-mailed or submitted in person by the eligible Tribal member. Each application must be completely filled out, signed and submitted to Family Services General Welfare office. Online E Form available on the Tribal Member Portal and Southern Ute Indian Tribe’s website.
- Tribal members who live off the SUIT reservation who wish to request emergency food assistance are asked to turn in their Family Services General Welfare application in by Monday no later than 3:00 PM in order to be processed on time for payment that Friday. We cannot guarantee payment on Friday if your application is turned in after Monday. Keep in mind that holidays can affect the deadlines.
